Boží Dar, the Ore Mountains
A mountain town of Boží Dar, in which our hotel is situated, belongs to the most popular resorts of the Ore Mountains. It boasts the altitude of 1,028 meters above sea level and it ranks as the highest located town in Central Europe. It lies almost on the border with Germany. So on foot, on a bike or on ski you can get to know the Czech section of the Ore Mountains as well as the landscape of our German neighbors. Kurort Oberwiesenthal, a sought-after German town, is just 2 kilometers from Boží Dar.
Lovers of winter sports can use the ski arenas Neklid or Klínovec with a wide selection of ski slopes of various difficulties both for children and advanced skiers. Passionate snowboarders will enjoy a modern snowpark there. Directly in Boží Dar there is a smaller ski arena Novako, suitable particularly for beginners. Fans of the white track will find prepared skiing trails in the surrounds of Boží Dar. Among the most popular tracks there is the 80-kilometer long Ore Mountains trail. Vast snowed-in plains offer a number of options for less known sports, such as snow shoeing or snow kiting.
In summer Boží Dar attracts visitors thanks to its charming mountain landscape ideal for hiking and cycling. The number of marked cycling paths and hiking trails has been increasing. We will be happy to assist you with a selection of your trip. The Boží Dar peat bog is worth seeing. So is the nearby located mining town of Horní Blatná or the famous Wolf holes or the Blatenský Ditch. The renowned town of Jáchymov is only 8 km away from Boží Dar. Apart from an interesting learning path Jáchymov Hell or a mining and history museum there is also a cable car (T-lift) which will transport you to the top of Klínovec. If you like to visit outlook towers, set out on a trip to Tisovský Hill or Plešivec Hill.
